Hi all, these are the pics from my restoration
LC. A few points first, i'm not a professional and have never done anything like this before. As you can see this is not your usual lotus, I've modified it for the track for fun only. This project was all done at home and took around 7 months to complete. Hope you like them! |

As you can see the shell is completely stripped, at this stage it was decided to have the whole car blasted
as shell looked to be in good condition and I was told this was the best way to find the rot (very true!). |

With all the panels fitted it was ready for painting, It was first put in a base primer then the underside
was stone chipped and in the boot as well. The inside and engine bay was painted in 2 pac (not sure why?). Then the rest of the car was painted in cellulose including underneath. I fully waxoyled the underneath and filled the chassis rails and anywhere else I could think of too. It took 6 of us to lift it out of the garage, this made it easier to paint the rest of the doors, boot and rollcage. |

The engine had been 100% reliable and it was decided not to touch
it, just fit some new gaskets and a coat of paint. I made some new engine mounts from a volvo's they are hard poly stuff and work very well, the only drawback is having to fit them with the engine out of the car but it shortens the time messing about in the engine bay. By the now the paint was hard enough and the gold stripe was added. New coil overs, calipers, discs, pads and bearings all were waiting to go on. |
