Mk2 Cortina exhaust manifold or whole system

Post by H Cortina » Sun Jun 09, 2013 6:44 am

Who's bought one recently?

There are various postings in this section recommending or commenting on different suppliers.

Just keen to see who has good first hand reports.

Sorry to bore everbody but being of little mechanical skills i want a system that fits straight off without grief.

After months of bodging my exhaust and taking advice from here there and everywhere i have booked the car in next weekend to Ashford Motorsport (in Dover!) to have an exhaust manifold made to suit.

For speed, cheapness and an instant fix i'm going for mild steel. I know i should go stainless but maybe next time in a couple of years.

I'll post pictures once done.

H i saw you at Aylesford in April & showed you the manifold on my car, this was made for me by a local engineer, he will make one the same for £200+ vat & he's closer to you than Dover! you have my contact details feel free to give me a call if this is any help? Darren Harrison WGT.

I appreciate all the comments and feedback i've had.

Dropped car off Saturday with Harold at Ashford Motorsport. Very impressed with his setup and the car will stay there for some other work.

Thanks Darren

Well thanks to Ashford Motorsport in Dover i now have a brand new custom made front to rear exhaust system. Well chuffed.

Plus rear seat belts fitted, new uprated fuel pumo, carbs stripped and overhauled etc etc.

You know what it's like go in for one thing and the list gets longer.

I can highly recommend Ashford Motorsport for exhausts and all things mechanical.
